Tour operators confirm increase in demand for Tenerife in 2023

The president of the Tenerife Insular Council, Pedro Martín, indicated that "the strategy pursued by Tenerife, driven by a firm commitment to digitalisation and sustainability, is yielding results".

The Tenerife delegation has taken the opportunity of FITUR, a trade fair taking place this week in Madrid, to announce that, following discussions with tour operators, Tenerife’s leading position as a travel destination has been confirmed. The increasing demand and the commitment of all the airlines to the island give good expectations for 2023.

Among the different national and international tour operators, Iberia Express, Air Europa, Ávoris, United Airlines, TAP Portugal or Jet2 have positive prospects, both in terms of projected seats and passengers.

The increase in demand has been the constant and the serenity for the coming summer season is the prevailing trend in the domestic market. As for the international market, tour operators such as Jet2, the main partner and first operator with Tenerife, reiterate the optimism they expressed at the World Travel Market last November.

According to the Insular Council, “Tenerife’s strategy, driven by a firm commitment to digitalisation and sustainability, is bearing fruit. We are also hearing this from tour operators, who tell us that travellers are attaching more and more importance to these aspects when choosing their holiday destination”.

In total, the Tenerife delegation has already held more than twenty meetings with national and international tour operators. From airlines and tour operators such as TAP Portugal, Vueling, United Airlines, Swiss, Volotea and Edelweiss-Zurich to the Spanish Association of Travel Agents (CEAV), the CEAV of Andalusia and the DIT Gestión group.
