Weather alert continues in the Canaries

Wind could reach speeds of up to 75 kilometres per hour on the northwest and southeast coasts.

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has extended the yellow warning in the Canary Islands for wind and adverse coastal phenomena throughout Thursday, which comes into force this Wednesday afternoon.

The risk of strong waves and occasional gusts will affect all the islands in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, as well as Gran Canaria.

The AEMET’s weather forecast for tomorrow announces a predominance of cloudy skies in the northeast of the islands of greater relief, where some weak and occasional rainfall is not ruled out. In the eastern islands, partly clear skies are expected during the second half of the day.

Temperatures will remain steady and the wind will blow northeast from moderate to strong, with the probability of gusts reaching 75 kilometres per hour on the northwest and southeast slopes of the more mountainous islands.
