A resounding success of the IV AgroCanarias Fair in Fuerteventura

The AgroCanarias fair comes to an end with a great success after four days of intense work by all the producers and companies in the primary sector who came together at the event with the aim of promoting, showcasing and selling their products, as well as making professional contacts.

For four days (26-29 January), the Plaza Tran Tran in Gran Tarajal hosted 16 producer stands, eight gastronomic areas and a market supplied by 32 suppliers from all over the islands. This is the first time this event has been held in Fuerteventura.

During the fair, held in Gran Tarajal, in the municipality of Tuineje, a total of 1,665 transactions were carried out, with the average ticket bill being higher than in the edition held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The success of the Fuerteventura edition was also reflected in the large number of visitors to the various workshops and cultural activities that took place from Thursday and throughout the weekend.

“From the Island Institution we would like to thank the visitors for their successful attendance. This type of initiative, which we will continue to support from the Insular Council, not only demonstrates the quality of our ‘Km 0’ products, but also gives the island’s producers the chance to showcase their work in a much wider showcase,” said the Council’s president, Sergio Lloret, who attended the fair on both Saturday and Sunday.

Among the activities, all free of charge, that took place at the Agrocanarias Fair were: workshops for children with gofio, honey, fruit, jams and cheese; tastings for adults with products such as cheese, wine, rum, palm syrup, oil, vermouth and cider; as well as different musical performances by groups such as Los Lola, Stereo Groove, Miss Band and Bloody Valentine; and music sessions of the eighties, among other performances.
