Santa Cruz de Tenerife to elect the Queen of Carnival today

All the tickets for the Gala of the Queen of the Carnival are sold out and the show expects to have 3,000 perfomers on stage.

Fifteen candidates will compete this Wednesday for the title of Queen of the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a gala which will take place from 9.30 p.m. on the stage of the Recinto Ferial and where the Carnival groups and murgas will have a special role. The gates to the Recinto Ferial will open to the public at 19.30 hours.


The jury that will choose the new Carnival Queen and her four ladies-in-waiting will be made up of Andrés Acosta, fashion designer; Nareme Melián, author of the Carnival 2023 poster; Roberto Siguero, graduate in Fine Arts, master’s degree in stage costume design and production and international gold medallist 2011 and 2022; Henry Querales, creative director of the production company ACHE; Macarena Gómez, actress; Joshua Huerta, choreographer, choreographer and choreographer of the Carnival 2023 poster; Joshua Huerta, choreographer and dancer; Gonzalo Castañeda, radio, television and press communicator; Roberto Herrera, journalist and director of the TVE programme Cerca de Ti in the Canary Islands; Alma Andreu Robles, communicator; Marta Modino, presenter and editor of TVC news; Carlos Gómez, agent, international model and director of Proyectea Rooms; Christina Gianpaoli, professional pilot; and Adexe & Nau, Canarian artists.

Canary Islands Television will broadcast the show live for the whole archipelago, while TVE will also broadcast it live for the whole of Spain on La 2. The coverage will be completed, for the whole world, by TVE International. The Gala will be presented by journalists Laura Afonso and Alexis Hernández and will feature a guest performance by Carlos Rivera, as well as singers Nía and the Knarias.
