250 tourism professionals gather in Tenerife and Gran Canaria

Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria are hosting these meetings, which are part of CEAV Professional Tour 2023, an initiative of face-to-face workshops in Spain with travel agencies, destinations and companies in the sector.

The Spanish Confederation of Travel Agencies (CEAV), together with the Canary Islands Association of Travel Agencies and Tour Operators (ACAVyT), have brought together nearly 250 tourism professionals in two workshops organised this week in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

According to the organisation, these events continue the CEAV Professional Tour 2023, an initiative of face-to-face workshops in Spain with travel agencies, destinations and companies in the sector, supported by the online platform, which offers greater visibility and dissemination to all exhibitors.

Some 200 travel agencies from the two Canary Islands provinces met with insurance companies, hotel chains, airlines and cruise companies, national and international destinations, etc., with whom they were able to establish contacts and generate business.

In this regard, the first vice president of CEAV, Rafael Gallego, said that of every ten tourists who visit the Canary Islands, seven are repeating destination, so events like these, framed in the CEAV Protour workshop tour, are a good opportunity for tourism companies to present their products and offers to local travel agencies.

Meanwhile, the president of ACAVyT, David Déniz, thanked the exhibitors for their presence on the islands and the collaboration of Fred. Olsen Express, Binter and Cicar, whose representatives also took part in the workshops.

He also referred to the tourism recovery and the forecasts, which indicate that the turnover of Canary Islands agencies will be higher after Easter than in 2019.
