Stifling temperatures in the Canary Islands will rise again today

Weather in the Canary Islands: the presence of calima and haze will be more significant in the midlands of the southern slopes and on the peaks.

The heat in the Canary Islands is not letting up. The weather forecast for today indicates that it will be clear with calima, more significant in the midlands of the southern slopes and peaks, as reported by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).


Temperatures will rise, especially on the eastern and western slopes, where they are expected to reach 34ºC, and thermometers will range from a maximum of 31 degrees on La Gomera to a minimum of 20 degrees on the island of El Hierro.

The wind will blow from the northeast to a strong easterly direction, with very strong gusts on the eastern and northwestern slopes, especially in the early and late hours.

In Gran Canaria there will be a predominance of clear skies with haze, which will be more significant in the midlands and summits of the southern slopes.

According to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will also have clear skies with haze.

As for temperatures, they will rise on the southern and western slopes, where they are expected to exceed 34 degrees, and with little change in the rest of the areas. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the maximum temperature will range between 27 degrees and a minimum of 21 degrees.

Finally, the wind will blow from the northeast to a strong easterly direction, with very strong gusts on the southeast and northwest, especially in the early and late hours.
