The Elder Museum (Gran Canaria) obtains the ‘Science Tourism’ seal

The Elder Museum of Science and Technology of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has been named among the ninety entities in Spain that promote science by taking advantage of tourists' leisure time.

The Elder Museum of Science and Technology of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has been selected and registered by a committee of experts as one of the ninety entities throughout Spain that promote science by taking advantage of tourists‘ leisure time.


Tourism with Science is made up of a multidisciplinary team of tourism professionals, scientific tourism companies and the scientific and dissemination community with successful products in scientific tourism, with knowledge and extensive experience in the sector.

This team has worked, among others, with the DesQbre Foundation in the identification and evaluation of scientific tourism initiatives in Andalusia and has defined what scientific tourism is and its possibilities for development in Andalusia.

The Elder Museum of Science and Technology is a centre attached to the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Trade of the Canary Islands Government and its opening hours are Tuesday to Thursday, from 09.30 to 19.30, and Friday to Sunday and public holidays, from 10.00 to 20.00.
