The Costa Martiánez Complex in Puerto de la Cruz undertakes the renovation of the principal lake area

The renovation of the Costa Martiánez Complex in a touristic town Puerto de la Cruz will include adapting of the facilities that can still be visited and enjoyed.

The current renovation work at the Costa Martiánez Resort Complex that first opened in 1977, includes a complete refurbishment of the engine room and this effort will be the first of its kind to be carried out. It is scheduled to take at least two months to complete this work.

For this reason, the area of the large lake will be closed to the public, while the swimming pool area of the Lido de San Telmo will remain open. The Complex has established new locations to continue providing catering services to the users of the swimming pools that remain open.

Likewise, the established capacity has been modified due to the reduction of the space due to all the logistics involved in the replacement and modernisation of the machine room that supplies seawater to the large lake.

“We remain committed to the care of César Manrique’s masterpiece, and after 46 years we have undertaken this necessary work to modernise the whole operation of the Complex’s engine room,” says the town mayor, Marco González, who points out that these actions are being carried out during these months when the strength of the waves is less, to ensure the safety of the specialised workers who will be working on the installation of the filtering systems in the sea.

Also from tomorrow, a single entrance will be established, as stipulated in the ordinance, which prevents people from leaving and re-entering the facilities with the same ticket already used, thus promoting the rotational use of the pools now that the capacity is lower.

With this, once the capacity of the Complex is full, customers may be admitted again, if occupancy permits, from 14.00 hours onwards, thus allowing new users more time to enjoy these facilities.
