Best ice creams of the Canary Islands

The best artisan ice cream makers will compete in the Spanish final of the Gelato Festival, scheduled for 2024 in Italy.

Gelato Festival World Masters, the main category tournament with partners Carpigiani and Sigep – Italian Exhibition Group, continues its new journey around the globe in search of the best ice cream in the world.

After Madrid, in November 2022, the second stop was Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where 12 Spanish artisan gelato makers took part in the sweetest competition of the year organised by Clifircan SLU, Carpigiani’s distributor, on the occasion of the GastroCanarias fair which runs until the 25th of the same month.

BEST CANARY ISLANDS ICE CREAM MAKERS IN THE FINAL OF THE GELATO FESTIVAL

The selected artisan gelato makers will go on to the Spanish final of the Gelato Festival, scheduled for 2024 in Italy, at the headquarters of the Carpigiani Gelato University.

Flavour, structure, creativity and presentation are the four parameters used for the evaluation, highlighting the choice of ingredients, the craftsmanship in the elaboration of the recipe and the visual impact of the gelato (see below the complete list of participants).

With the 2022-25 edition, the Gelato Festival World Masters reaches its thirteenth year, having debuted in Florence in 2010, inspired by the first gelato recipe, created by the multifaceted architect Bernardo Buontalenti in 1559.

Since then, the event has been crossing borders, expanding firstly throughout Italy and Europe, and since 2017 also in the United States, reaching the entire planet with the Gelato Festival World Masters championship, in which more than 3,500 gelato makers are taking part in the 2018-2021 edition.
