Sting in Tenerife: Adeje prepares to receive tomorrow his ‘My Songs’ tour

Sting will perform his most emblematic songs, both from his time with The Police and as a solo artist, on Sunday in Gran Canaria.

Sting will perform tomorrow Saturday in Tenerife. The football pitch in the southern municipality of Adeje will be the stage where the British artist will offer, from 21.00 hours, a concert of his world tour My Songs 2023. His presence in the archipelago will include a second performance the following day (21.00) in the Plaza de la Música in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

EUROPE AND THE UNITED STATES

Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, i.e. Sting, was scheduled to begin his tour of the Old Continent last night in Bilbao. From there, the author of Message in a Bottle will give concerts throughout the year in various European countries and in the United States, before returning to Spain in December, where on the 16th he will perform at the Pabellón Navarra Arena, in Pamplona, as announced yesterday, when tickets went on sale for this last musical event.

My Songs brings together the artist’s most emblematic songs, both from his time with The Police and his solo career. And there is plenty of material to choose from, as the list of hits is almost endless. The 17-time Grammy winner’s tracks include such well-known songs as Fields of Gold, Shape of My Heart, Roxanne, Demolition Man, Englishman In New York, Every Breath You Take and Message In A Bottle, to name but a few.

During this tour, Sting will be accompanied by an electric rock band and artist Joe Sumner, his son. The line-up includes Dominic and Rufus Miller (guitars), Josh Freese (drums) and Kevin Webster (keyboards).

At 71 years of age, the Newcastle artist is still in top form, as he demonstrated last year with four concerts in Spain. My Songs began in 2019 and, pandemic by pandemic, he has already played more than 200 concerts to his credit, including in the United States, the Middle East and his native United Kingdom.
