Binter, the airline of the Canaries, has recently launched a new domestic air route, providing direct connections between the Canary Islands and the island of Ibiza (IBZ). The service operates once a week, with a stopover in Gran Canaria (LPA), and has a total travel time of three hours and ten minutes.
This route is particularly convenient for travelers planning to visit the renowned Pitiusas Islands during the months of July and August. Additionally, Binter offers free access to connecting flights from all airports in the archipelago, ensuring that this new destination is accessible to all residents of the Canary Islands.
With the introduction of this service, Binter now offers flights to all airports in the Balearic archipelago, further expanding its offerings for the summer season.
To commemorate the inaugural flight, a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony was held, attended by Samuel Ferrera, Binter’s Network Manager, and Jacobo Santana, the company’s shift manager at Gran Canaria Airport.
The first flight took off from Gran Canaria Airport at 22:45 hours on Thursday, arriving at Ibiza Airport at 02:55 hours on Friday. The return journey departed from Ibiza at 03:40 hours, landing back in Gran Canaria at 06:15 hours.
To mark this special occasion, the airline provided passengers on the inaugural flight with a unique service. This included the distribution of shots of honey rum with cream and cinnamon, as well as a gift consisting of a miniature bottle of Ron Arehucas 7-year-old rum, boho chic key rings, and LED bracelets.
THE CANARIES: CONNECTIONS WITH ALL AIRPORTS IN THE BALEARICS
In addition to its existing routes from Mallorca and Menorca, Binter now offers a new connection with the Canary Islands from Ibiza.
Binter currently operates six weekly flights between Mallorca (PMI) and the Canary Islands. Passengers can enjoy direct flights to Gran Canaria on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, as well as flights to Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna airport on Wednesdays and Sundays.
For travelers from Menorca (MAH), Binter provides a route to the Canary Islands every Tuesday. The flight departs Menorca at 18:35 and arrives at Gran Canaria airport (LPA) at 21:00. The return journey from the Canary Islands departs at 13:50 and arrives at Menorca airport at 17:55.
