The annual rate of the CPI fell in June compared to May in all the Spain’s regions and did so by one point in the Canary Islands, where it stood at 3.9 %, according to data released on Wednesday by the INE, which shows that at national level the rate is 1.9 %, almost one and a half points lower than that recorded the previous month.
Last month, the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased in the Canary Islands at an annual rate of 12.8 %, while housing prices fell by 9.4 %.
Alcoholic beverages and tobacco, on the one hand, and household goods, on the other, recorded increases of 6.2 and 5.7 %, respectively. Clothing and footwear rose by 0.8 %.
