The Aemet forecasts possible rain in the Canary Islands on Monday

According to the Aemet, temperatures could continue to decrease in the Canary Islands.

The Spanish Meteorological Agency, Aemet, has forecasted that tomorrow the northern regions of the mountainous islands will experience predominantly cloudy skies. There is a low chance of scattered light showers in the midlands during the early morning hours. The rest of the areas can expect partly cloudy or clear conditions, with intermittent clouds in the northern and western parts of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.


Temperature-wise, no significant changes are expected, although there might be slight decreases in the southern midlands and the western islands.

The wind will primarily blow from the northeast. There could be occasional strong gusts on the southeast and northwest slopes, while the southwest coasts of the mountainous islands will experience breezy conditions. On the summits, the wind will be light and variable, shifting to an easterly direction in the afternoon.

At sea, the wind will have a north or north-easterly component with a force of 5 or 6, increasing to 7 offshore on the west and southeast coasts until the early morning. The swell will become strong locally and heavy offshore on the west and southeast coasts until the early morning. On the north coast, the wind will have a north or northeast component with a force of 3 or 4, accompanied by swell. The south and southwest coasts will experience variable winds ranging from 1 to 4, along with swell. The north swell will reach heights of 1 to 2 meters.

GRAN CANARIA

In the northern regions, expect intervals of clouds, with cloudy skies during the early and late hours. The rest of the areas will be clear. Temperatures will experience minor changes. The wind will blow from the northeast, occasionally becoming strong on the southeast and northwest slopes. Breezes can be expected on the southwest coast. On the summits, the wind will be light and variable, mostly coming from the east.

TENERIFE

Cloudy intervals are expected, with predominantly cloudy skies in the north and partly cloudy skies in the east. There is a low chance of occasional light showers in the northeastern midlands. Temperatures will remain mostly unchanged, with a slight decrease in the southern and western medianías. The wind will occasionally be strong and blow from the north-east on the eastern slope and extreme northwest. Breezy conditions will prevail on the southwest coast. In higher areas, the wind will be light and variable, increasing and shifting to the south on central summits.

LA GOMERA

Low clouds will dominate the region, with cloudy skies prevailing in the north. Temperatures will remain mostly unchanged, with a slight decrease in the south and west midlands. The wind will blow from the northeast, occasionally becoming strong on the east and northwest slopes. Breezy conditions can be expected on the southwest coast. On the summits, the wind will be light and variable.

LA PALMA

The northern and eastern parts of the island will experience cloudy skies, with a low chance of scattered and occasional light showers, particularly in the northeastern midlands. The rest of the areas will be partly cloudy or clear. Temperatures will remain mostly unchanged, with a slight decrease in the southern and western medianías. The wind will blow from the northeast, occasionally becoming strong on the southeastern and northwestern slopes. Breezy conditions will be present on the west coast. On the summits, the wind will be light, variable, and tend to shift to the east in the afternoon.

EL HIERRO

Expect partly cloudy or clear skies with intermittent clouds in the north. Temperatures will remain mostly unchanged, with a slight decrease in the south and west midlands. The wind will blow from the northeast, occasionally becoming strong on the southeast slope and extreme northwest. Breezy conditions can be expected on the southwest coast.
