The Spain’s National Geographic Institute has recently reported a series of earthquakes off the west coast of Tenerife. From yesterday, Sunday, until early Monday morning, a total of 20 earthquakes have been recorded, with magnitudes ranging between 1.3 and 1.8.
Seismologists have observed that these earthquakes occurred at depths varying from 30 to 46 kilometres.
Despite some attention drawn by this seismic series, experts emphasize that the small number of events and their relatively minor sizes do not indicate a significant change in the state of volcanic activity on the island.
The Spain’s National Geographic Institute will continue to analyze these earthquakes for further insights and will remain vigilant regarding any potential developments.
As of now, there have been no reports of damages or major consequences resulting from these tremors.
