When August draws to a close, the Plaza de la Patrona de Canarias in Candelaria will come alive with a concert on the 26th, transporting attendees back to the vibrant era of the nineties – one of the finest periods in Spanish pop-rock history.
This musical journey will not only be fueled by the performances of guest artists such as Amistades Peligrosas, La Guardia, Rafa Sánchez (from La Unión), and OBK but also by creating an ambiance that reflects the spirit of that decade and offering alternative activities that will evoke a range of sensations and emotions among festival-goers.
While the exact song lineup for the Canarias Remember 90’s FEST is still under wraps, attendees can look forward to hearing some of the most beloved tunes from each group’s repertoire, including hits like “Lobo hombre en París,” “Ella es un volcán” (Rafa Sánchez, vocalist of La Unión), “Me haces tanto bien,” “Estoy por ti,” “Me quedaré solo” (Amistades Peligrosas), “Mil calles llevan hacia ti,” “Cuando brille el sol” (La Guardia), and “Historias de amor,” “Dicen,” and “Quién le dio sentido a nuestro amor” (OBK).
The presentation ceremony, held at the Candelaria Town Hall, was presided over by the municipality’s mayoress, Mari Brito, who, alongside the mayor of Culture and the concert promoter, emphasized the strong support from the Consistory for such musical events. “We aspire for Candelaria to become a benchmark for hosting concerts in the years to come,” she stated.
