For the second year in a row, Tenerife will be the host of the global finals for the World Corporate Golf Challenge (WCGC), which stands as one of the world’s largest corporate golf tournaments. Scheduled from October 2nd to October 6th, the event is set to gather around 250 participants and guests from over 25 countries, as informed by the Island Council.
Running concurrently with the tournament is the Sports Legends Cup, a competition designed to assemble both national and international sports figures, all centered around the sport of golf during the same dates.
For the consecutive second year, Tenerife has secured its role as the venue for the world finals of the World Corporate Golf Challenge (WCGC), an event renowned as one of the globe’s most significant corporate golf tournaments. Set to unfold from October 2nd to October 6th, the event will draw in approximately 250 participants and guests hailing from over 25 nations, as reported by the Cabildo.
The event’s programming is also inclusive of the simultaneous staging of the Sports Legends Cup, a contest that, during the same timeframe, will unite prominent national and international sports luminaries, all within the sphere of golf.
“The grand finale of this tournament underscores Tenerife’s exceptional ability to host top-tier events, and it will be attended by players representing prominent companies worldwide. They will have the opportunity to explore not only our exceptional golf courses, but also the entirety of Tenerife’s supplementary offerings,” stated the official.
In alignment with this sentiment, Tenerife Tourism’s CEO, David Pérez, supplemented, “This event transcends being a mere golf tournament by encompassing social and cultural engagements, alongside visits and excursions that will enable attendees to immerse themselves in the island’s natural landscapes, culinary delights, and the captivating essence of its towns and villages.”
Celebrating 30th Anniversary of World Corporate Golf Challenge on Tenerife
The championship will observe its thirtieth anniversary on the island. Reflecting on this milestone, WCGC’s president, José Guerra, conveyed his contentment with Tenerife reclaiming its role as the host of the final round of the tournament.
“To celebrate our 30th anniversary in a place as remarkable as Tenerife is our aspiration. Last year’s World Final was an unequivocal triumph, and all participants were deeply impressed by the caliber of golf and the tourism on the island. My special gratitude goes out to the dedicated efforts of the Cabildo and Turismo de Tenerife for transforming this event into a tangible reality,” he articulated.
Concluding his remarks, the head of the competition underscored that “the World Corporate Golf Challenge’s 30th anniversary provides a unique opportunity to honor the event’s history and legacy, while concurrently enhancing connections and cherishing the ethos of camaraderie and sportsmanship within the corporate realm.”
