The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has forecasted possible light rain in the high relief areas of the Canary Islands and in the north of Lanzarote for this Friday. The day is expected to have stable temperatures and occasional strong winds.
Regarding sea conditions, the wind will blow from the northeast with a force of 4 to 5 in most of the Canary waters, temporarily increasing to force 6 on the coasts of Gran Canaria and Tenerife. There will be an increasing swell to strong swell in the western islands and Gran Canaria, with swell from the north or northwest ranging from 1 to 2 meters.

Expect cloudy intervals with clearing during the central hours, except on the eastern slope where intervals will persist. There’s a low probability of light showers in the north, with a slightly higher likelihood during the early hours of the morning. GRAN CANARIA
During the morning and evening, expect cloudy conditions in the north, decreasing to cloudy intervals for the rest of the day, with the possibility of occasional light showers, mainly in the morning. The rest of the day will see partly cloudy skies, with clouds forming in inland areas facing south during the central hours, with the possibility of light rainfall. Temperatures will remain steady, and there will be a moderate north-easterly wind in the early hours, becoming northerly for the rest of the day, with intervals of strong winds in the extreme north-west and on the south-eastern slope.

TENERIFE
During the morning and evening, expect cloudy conditions in the north, decreasing to cloudy intervals for the rest of the day. There’s a chance of light rain in the north and in the inland south during the afternoon, which could be locally moderate. Temperatures will remain stable, and there will be a moderate north wind, more intense in the extreme northwest and southeast, with some strong winds.

LA GOMERA
Anticipate cloudy skies with a probability of weak and occasional showers in the north, gradually becoming lightly cloudy from midday onwards. Elsewhere, skies will be partly cloudy or clear. Temperatures will remain unchanged, and there will be a moderate north-easterly wind, more intense on the eastern and western slopes.

LA PALMA
Expect cloudy intervals, with denser cloud cover in the north and east. Occasional light showers are likely on the north-eastern slope.
