Canary Islands weather: anticipating rainfall alongside soaring temperatures

On Tuesday, the weather forecast indicates that the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife could experience maximum temperatures reaching 29°C.

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has provided a detailed weather forecast for the Canary Islands for this Tuesday. Here’s a breakdown of the forecast. AEMET indicates the possibility of rainfall in the Canary Islands on Tuesday, alongside rising temperatures across the archipelago.


The Agency’s forecast for the day does not foresee any significant weather phenomena in the region. Expect a day characterized by intermittent cloud cover, with clouds being more prevalent in the northern areas during the early and late hours. In contrast, the southern half of Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura are expected to have lighter cloud cover.

Furthermore, the forecast does not rule out the chance of scattered and occasional light showers, particularly in the northern regions of Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro, with a higher likelihood of such showers occurring in the midlands.

AEMET also notes a slight increase in temperatures in the midlands and inland areas. Maximum temperatures could reach up to 29ºC in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and 28ºC in the province of Las Palmas.

As for the wind, it is expected to blow from the northeast, with stronger winds on the southeast and northwest slopes of the islands and breezy conditions on the southwest coasts of the mountainous islands. At higher elevations, the wind is expected to be generally light and variable in direction, with a predominant northerly component.
