The Tenerife International Film Music Festival, known as Fimucité, has officially announced the dates for its highly anticipated 18th edition. The festival is set to take place from July 5th to July 20th, 2024. This announcement marks the return of Fimucité to the summer season, a move that is welcomed by enthusiasts of film soundtracks.
During its seventeenth edition, which ran from June 30th to July 15th, Fimucité explored the captivating world of comics and superheroes, offering a diverse range of events. Over the course of this edition, more than 7,000 attendees had the opportunity to enjoy six concerts and various parallel activities.

Fimucité’s hallmark is its program of concerts, which features original productions premiering in each new edition. These concerts consistently offer exceptional interpretations of beloved soundtracks, captivating the audience’s interest. The festival has become known for hosting world premieres and attracting renowned international guests, including composers, artists, and other industry professionals. These elements combined make Fimucité an essential cultural event in the Canary Islands, drawing attendees not only from the local community but also from around the world.
Diego Navarro, the festival’s founder and director, expressed his satisfaction with the 17th edition’s return to its rightful place in the month of July, recapturing the essence of summer that characterizes the world’s oldest film music festival. He praised the diverse range of activities and concerts that delighted the festival’s audience and emphasized the festival’s established position as a cultural treasure in the region.
Fimucité’s 17th edition received sponsorship and support from several esteemed organizations, including the Cabildo of Tenerife, the Autonomous Body for Culture of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, the Autonomous Body for Musical Activities of the La Laguna City Council, the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, the Tenerife Auditorium, the Canary Islands Institute for Cultural Development, and Volcano Teide Experience.
Furthermore, the festival enjoyed collaboration with institutions like the Tenerife Science and Technology Park, Tenerife Innova, the Canary Islands Development Fund, DISA Foundation, Emmasa, SGAE Foundation, La Caixa Foundation through CaixaBank, CajaCanarias Foundation, Audi as the official car sponsor, and the DIARIO DE AVISOS Foundation. Additionally, the Plató del Atlántico Group and Televisión Canaria played significant roles as the festival’s main media partners, contributing to its overall success and impact.
