Starting on February 1st, Binter is set to launch flights to Madrid, connecting Tenerife North and Gran Canaria to the Spanish capital with four daily routes from each island. For other parts of the archipelago, complimentary connecting flights will be provided, as announced by the company’s president, Rodolfo Núñez, during a press conference.
Tickets are available for purchase on the company’s website starting today. In celebration of the launch, Canary Island residents can secure tickets for just 20 euros, with airport taxes included, making a round trip cost not exceeding 50 euros.
The flight schedule will include two morning and two afternoon flights from both airports, ensuring a total of eight daily connections to Madrid. Passengers will be permitted to bring hand luggage weighing up to eight kilograms, and the flights will operate from Terminal 2 of Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport.
Onboard, passengers can enjoy gourmet snacks featuring fresh, diverse products sourced from the Canary Islands. In addition, in-flight entertainment and mobile connectivity will be provided. Notably, the company will discontinue its usual in-flight music on routes to the capital.
In the coming months, Binter will receive five Embraer 195 E-2 aircraft with 132 seats, with three based in Madrid, one in Tenerife, and one in Gran Canaria. This marks the company’s first-ever base outside the Canary Islands, according to President Núñez. Additionally, six more aircraft are set to be incorporated in the summer.
The introduction of this new route will lead to the hiring of 300 new employees, bringing the company’s total workforce to nearly 5,000.
