Continued rain expected in the Canary Islands on Monday

The State Meteorological Agency has decided to maintain the yellow alert for coastal phenomena, accompanied by rain, in Tenerife and Lanzarote in the Canary Islands.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued a weather forecast for Monday, November 6, 2023. The forecast indicates moderate and persistent rains in the northern midlands of the most mountainous islands. In Tenerife, La Palma, and Gran Canaria, there have been locally heavy rains during the early hours of the morning.


For Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the forecast predicts cloudy intervals with possible light showers in the early morning. In Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro, and Gran Canaria, the skies will be cloudy or overcast with general light rainfall. Locally, the rainfall may become moderate and persistent in the northeastern midlands during the first half of the day, gradually moving to the south in the afternoon.

Temperatures are expected to drop slightly and moderately, particularly in north and east-facing areas, while minimum temperatures will remain unchanged.

The wind will blow moderately from the northeast, with strong intervals on southeast and northwest slopes.

It’s important to note that Aemet has issued a yellow warning for coastal phenomena in Tenerife and Lanzarote. This warning will impact the coasts of the north, metropolitan area, and east, as well as the south and west of the island of Teide.
