Securing a hotel for the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival is a top choice for enthusiasts of the grand festivities in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, as well as for the multitude of visitors from afar who flock to the city to partake in the celebrations, particularly during the peak days when the streets are alive with revelry.
Given the event’s global draw – recognised as one of the world’s premier carnivals – hotel prices reflect the demand, with some accommodations marking up their rates by as much as 284 percent. This is particularly notable during the Piñata weekend, with evidence of the price hikes visible on various online booking platforms.
For the period of 16th to 18th February, in the heart of the carnival, some central Santa Cruz de Tenerife hotels have listed the cost of a nightly stay per person at 356 euros (amounting to a total of 712 euros), a significant increase from the approximately 125 euros (totaling 250 euros) charged in January.
SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE CARNIVAL 2024
Looking ahead to the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival 2024, the festivities are set to commence on 12th January with the traditional Candidate Presentation. The Children’s Queen will be crowned on Sunday, 28th January, and the Queen of the adults will be unveiled on Wednesday, 31st January.
The Gala to elect the Carnival Queen will take place on Wednesday, 7th February, signalling the onset of the street celebrations which will continue until Piñata Sunday on 18th February.
