Calima recedes, yet the heat persists in the Canary Islands

While calima will be gradually departing, temperatures in the Canary Islands could soar to highs of 32 degrees.

Today’s weather forecast suggests generally clear skies with some high-altitude calima expected, which will diminish by the afternoon, as per the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

There’s a minor to moderate increase anticipated in temperatures, with a chance of them hitting 30-32 degrees, especially in the southern and western regions of the islands.

Expect light, variable winds with a tendency towards breezes. In higher terrain and midland areas, a moderate easterly wind is predicted.
