Calima returns to the Canary Islands

A widespread rise in temperatures is forecast across the Canary Islands, with a presence of light calima.

This Sunday, a mild calima is expected to emerge in the Canary Islands, gradually spreading from east to west. The day will feature periods of high clouds with temperatures generally staying the same or experiencing a slight increase, as reported by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

Coastal areas will see a light easterly breeze, while the higher elevations and mid-slopes will experience moderate southeasterly winds.

Regarding marine conditions, a northeast wind of force 4 or 5 is typical across the archipelago, bringing with it swell and locally strong waves. The swell will predominantly come from the northwest, with heights ranging from 1 to 2 meters.
