One more year, the Canary Islands celebrated the addition of three new Michelin stars, awarded to the restaurants Haydée and Taste 1973, situated in La Orotava and at the Hotel Villa Cortés in Playa de Las Américas, respectively, and Bevir, located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
These esteemed establishments join the ranks of other prestigious restaurants in the region, such as El Rincón de Juan Carlos and MB, each boasting two Michelin stars, alongside Abama Kabuki, Nub, San-Hö, Tabaiba, La Aquarela, Los Guayres, and Poemas By Hermanos Padrón.
The announcement was made at the gala in Barcelona for the 2024 Michelin Guide. Notably, Disfrutar (Barcelona) and Noor (Córdoba) each earned their third Michelin Star, joining the exclusive group of 13 establishments that have maintained this highest accolade.
The Michelin organization praised the innovative culinary approach of Disfrutar, helmed by chefs Mateu Casañas, Oriol Castro, and Eduard Xatruch. In his acceptance speech, Xatruch expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from their teams and families since their early days as chefs.

Regarding Noor, under the leadership of chef Paco Morales, it was highlighted as a “real ‘cultural project'”, aiming to revive the historical essence of Andalusian cuisine. Morales, moved by the honor, acknowledged the dream-like quality of such an achievement and expressed gratitude towards his team and family.
Other chefs who retained their three Michelin stars include Jordi Cruz (ABaC, Barcelona), Sergio and Javier Torres (Cocina Hermanos Torres, Barcelona), Martín Berasategui (Lasarte, Barcelona, and Martín Berasategui, Lasarte-Oria, Gipuzkoa), Pedro Subijana (Akelarre, San Sebastián, Gipuzkoa), and Toño Pérez (Atrio, Cáceres).
Also maintaining their three-star status are Quique Dacosta (Quique Dacosta, Dénia, Alicante), Ángel León (Aponiente, El Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz), Dabiz Muñoz (DiverXO, Madrid), Eneko Atxa (Azurmendi, Larrabetzu, Bizkaia), the Roca brothers (Celler de Can Roca, Girona), Jesús Sánchez (Cenador de Amós, Villaverde de Pontones, Cantabria), and Juan Mari Arzak (Arzak, San Sebastián, Gipuzkoa).
