On Saturday, December 30th, at 20:30, the Teobaldo Power Auditorium in the municipality of La Orotava will be the venue for the 47th edition of the traditional New Year’s Eve concert. This concert, performed by the Agrupación Musical Orotava under the direction of local conductor Julio Castañeda, is one of the most anticipated events of the season, attracting attendees from across the island.
It forms a key part of the town’s extensive Christmas programme. Entry to the concert is free, but guests need to collect invitations from the mayor’s office in the Town Hall of La Orotava starting from December 26th, with a limit of two tickets per person.
This year’s concert theme is film music, featuring iconic soundtracks from movies such as Superman, The Mission, Gladiator, Harry Potter, and a selection from western films. The repertoire will showcase works by renowned composers like John Williams, Ennio Morricone, Hans Zimmer, and others, whose music has become an integral part of many memorable films and has remained in collective memory.
The performance will be uniquely paired with visuals, bringing the audience closer to the cinematic world of the featured soundtracks. Additionally, there will be a segment dedicated to traditional Christmas music.
The Town Hall of La Orotava, in collaboration with the Agrupación Musical Orotava, organises this concert as a spectacular finale to end the year 2023, promising an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
