This afternoon, Santa Claus will be making his way through the historic old town of La Laguna in the inaugural Great Father Christmas Parade, an event organized by the City Council’s Department of Culture and Festivals.
The parade is set to commence at 18.00 hours from Consistory Street, winding through Obispo Rey Redondo (La Carrera), Tizón, Herradores, and Viana, before circling back to its starting point, as detailed by the organizing department.
Among the procession’s highlights will be beloved animated characters like Mickey Mouse and his friends, magical fairies, and reindeer. They will appear both on foot and on various vehicles and electric tricycles. The parade will also feature sweet distribution and performances by musical and dance groups, all accompanying Santa Claus, who will be riding in a classic vehicle. Adding a bit of playful mischief to the festivities, the Grinch will also make an appearance.

In addition to this exciting new initiative, last Friday saw the inauguration of a sculpture of Father Christmas, towering over three metres tall, near Plaza de La Concepción in La Laguna. This installation revives a tradition that had faded from the city 50 years ago.
