In Spain, the cost of hotels, hostels, guesthouses, and similar accommodation services witnessed a 13.3% increase in November compared to the previous year, as per the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data. Package tours also saw a 12% average rise during the same period.
This increase in accommodation prices is slightly lower than in 2022, when there was a 13.7% growth from the previous year. This was the first year after major Covid-19 restrictions were lifted.
Other accommodation types, such as holiday resorts, campsites, and youth hostels, experienced a 5.7% year-on-year price increase in November, which is three percentage points more than the increase recorded in 2022.

According to the National Statistics Institute (INE), hotel overnight stays in Spain from January to October increased by 6.5% compared to the same period in the previous year, surpassing the figures of the first ten months of 2019.
Extra-hotel overnight stays rose by 3.9% in the first ten months of the year, 4.6% higher than pre-pandemic levels.
Regarding package holidays, domestic packages saw a substantial 21.4% year-on-year increase in prices, significantly more than international packages, which only increased by 2.7% in November.
In comparison to 2021, 2022’s price increases were more pronounced, with domestic packages rising by 1.5% and international packages by 2.2%.
