The weather forecast for the Canary Islands on Friday, 29th December.

This Friday, the Canary Islands are set to enjoy predominantly clear skies with occasional periods of high cloudiness. The islands will also see the presence of calima, generally mild, alongside a modest increase in temperatures, as forecasted by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).


Winds will be mostly light, with an easterly direction prevailing in the eastern islands and a north-easterly direction in the western islands. Marine conditions will feature southeast winds ranging from force 1 to 3, occasionally reaching 4 or 5. The coasts can expect swell or large areas of waves, along with north swells growing to up to 2 metres in the northwest.

  • Lanzarote: Mostly clear skies with occasional high clouds and possible light haze. Temperatures will be steady or slightly warmer, especially in western areas. Winds will be light to moderate, east to southeast, becoming stronger on the north and west coasts before turning north and easing in the afternoon. Expected temperatures range between 14°C and 22°C.
  • Fuerteventura: Similar conditions with clear skies, occasional high clouds, and a chance of generally light haze. Temperatures will remain stable or experience a minor rise, especially in the west. East to southeast winds will be light to moderate, becoming stronger on the west coast, shifting to the north and easing in the afternoon. Forecasted temperatures range from 14°C to 23°C in Puerto del Rosario.
  • Gran Canaria: There’s a chance of generally light haze. Expect a slight increase in temperatures and light variable winds, predominantly easterly during central hours. Temperatures in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will range from 18°C to 23°C.
  • Tenerife: Clear skies with some high clouds and a possibility of light haze. Temperatures will be stable or slightly higher, mainly the minimums. Light east to northeast winds with breezes on the north and west coasts, turning westerly and strengthening slightly by day’s end on central peaks. Santa Cruz de Tenerife can expect temperatures between 18°C and 25°C.
  • La Gomera: Expect clear skies with occasional high clouds and temperatures that are stable or slightly rising. Light north winds will become somewhat stronger in the afternoon on the eastern slope with breezes on the north and south coasts. San Sebastián de La Gomera will see temperatures ranging from 18°C to 26°C.
  • La Palma: Anticipate clear skies with some high clouds and stable or slightly higher temperatures, especially the minimums. Light northeasterly winds will intensify in the southeast and northwest in the afternoon, variable on high peaks, and breezes on the west and northeast coasts. Santa Cruz de La Palma will have temperatures between 17°C and 24°C.
  • El Hierro: Expect clear skies with occasional high clouds and stable or slightly rising temperatures. Light to moderate north-easterly winds will be somewhat stronger in the southeast and northwest in the afternoon, light and variable on summits, with breezes on the north and southwest coasts. Valverde will see temperatures ranging from 16°C to 19°C.
