Today’s weather forecast in the Canary Islands suggests that the northern slopes will experience intervals of cloudiness, interspersed with significant clearings during the midday hours, while the rest of the regions will mostly see lightly clouded skies. Cloud formations are expected inland during the afternoon, and there’s a slight chance of occasional, light, and scattered rainfall, as reported by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).


Temperature changes will be minimal, with the mercury ranging from a high of 24 degrees in Tenerife to a low of 15 degrees on the island of El Hierro.

Winds are expected to be generally light and variable in direction, with coastal areas predominantly experiencing breezes.

For Thursday, 4 January, the forecast for Gran Canaria predicts slightly cloudy to clear skies with morning intervals of low cloud in the northern regions and high cloud later in the day.

In Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, clear skies will largely prevail, with periods of low clouds along the coast and higher clouds appearing in the afternoon, as per Aemet.

Temperatures will remain stable or might decrease slightly. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, expect temperatures to range between a maximum of 23ºC and a minimum of 17ºC.

Winds will generally be light from the northeast, with moderate breezes in the southeast and northwest. The southwest coasts can anticipate breezes as well.
