AEMET forecasts light rain in the Canary Islands

According to AEMET, the temperatures in the Canary Islands are expected to remain relatively unchanged.

Today’s weather in the Canary Islands is forecasted to be mostly clear or slightly cloudy, with the exception of some cloudiness in the northeast during the early morning hours, where there is a possibility of occasional light drizzle, as per the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).


The temperature is expected to stay fairly consistent, with highs reaching up to 23°C in Tenerife and the lows dipping to around 13°C on the island of El Hierro.

Winds are predicted to be gentle overall, predominantly blowing from the northeast along the coastlines and from the south in the midlands and higher terrains. In the afternoon, especially around the peaks, the wind is likely to intensify and shift to a southerly direction.

In Gran Canaria, the skies are expected to be partially cloudy or clear, with some cloudy intervals in the northeast in the early morning. Both Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will experience partly cloudy conditions, with some high cloud intervals early in the morning and occasional low cloud intervals in the late morning and towards the evening.

Temperatures in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria are anticipated to remain relatively stable, with a high of 24°C and a low of 17°C.

Winds in this region will be mild to moderate, originating from the northeast but gradually easing and turning easterly as the day progresses. The peaks and midlands will have light southerly winds, while coastal areas can expect west and southwest breezes.
