Temperatures rise and calima arrives in the Canary Islands in mid-January

In the Canary Islands, temperatures could reach 28 degrees Celsius.

The weather forecast for today, as reported by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), indicates that the Canary Islands can expect a day with a slightly cloudy sky, characterized by the presence of high clouds.

Temperature-wise, there will be a gradual increase, with thermometers ranging from a maximum of 24 degrees Celsius in Tenerife to a minimum of 15 degrees Celsius on the island of El Hierro.

The prevailing wind direction will be from the south, occasionally strengthening in the northeast and northwest, especially in exposed high-altitude areas.

In Gran Canaria, the weather will feature partly cloudy to generally clear skies. Meanwhile, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura are expected to have clear conditions, although there may be a light haze.

Maximum temperatures across the region will experience a slight to moderate increase, while minimum temperatures will remain unchanged or see a slight rise. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, you can anticipate maximum temperatures ranging between 27ºC, with minimum temperatures staying around 17ºC.

Wind conditions will generally be from the south, characterized as light to moderate, but turning to a moderate southwest direction in the midlands and highland regions.
