The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated a yellow warning for coastal phenomena in La Palma and El Hierro on Friday, the 12th, and Saturday, the 13th.
On Saturday, a combined west or north-westerly swell of up to 4 meters is expected in the westernmost Canary Islands, primarily due to the swell generated by squall Hippolito.
The most significant swell will impact the north and west coasts of La Palma and El Hierro, with effects also extending to the coasts of La Gomera, the northern regions of Tenerife, the north and southwest of Gran Canaria, as well as the northern and western shores of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.
In response to these conditions, the Canary Islands Government, through the Directorate General for Emergencies, has declared a pre-alert situation for coastal phenomena across the entire archipelago, starting from 06:00 hours this Friday.

Regarding the weather forecast, haze will be particularly noticeable on Saturday, primarily in the eastern islands, intensifying during the afternoon in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Temperatures are also expected to rise, with values that are unusually high for this time of year in the Canary Islands.
In the westernmost islands of the archipelago, cloudy skies will persist with occasional precipitation, while the rest of the islands will experience cloudy intervals.
Furthermore, the Aemet forecasts strong southerly winds during the central hours of the day on Saturday. There is a likelihood of very strong southwesterly gusts in high-altitude areas of Tenerife, and locally very strong gusts cannot be ruled out in the western and northern parts of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
