Today’s weather forecast for the Canary Islands suggests varied conditions across the region. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts cloudy skies in the northeast, with intervals of cloudiness elsewhere. There’s a chance of light, sporadic rain, which could turn moderately intense in the northeast, particularly from midday.


Temperature-wise, a noticeable drop is expected. The range will span from a high of 24 degrees Celsius in La Gomera to a low of 15 degrees Celsius on El Hierro. Winds across the islands will generally be mild, with prevailing breezes. The higher altitudes will experience moderate westerly winds.

In Gran Canaria, the day will start with cloudy intervals, shifting to mixed cloudiness in the north and east and clearer skies with high cloud intervals elsewhere as the day progresses. The northern and eastern slopes may see light, intermittent rainfall beginning in the morning, potentially becoming moderate in some areas. Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will experience cloudy intervals with a slight chance of light, occasional rain.

A slight dip in minimum temperatures is anticipated, with a more noticeable decrease in maximum temperatures, particularly in the southwest and in other areas. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria can expect maximum temperatures around 23°C and minimums near 18°C.

Winds will be light and easterly, with breezes in the far east. The peaks will experience moderate south-westerly winds, which could occasionally intensify in the early morning hours.
