Tenerife is gearing up for the upcoming extended weekend. Following Christmas and preceding Carnival, Tenerife residents and island visitors, depending on their location, will have the opportunity to enjoy public holidays and several days of festivities in quick succession.
The entire population of Tenerife will have the pleasure of celebrating the festival of the Virgen de Candelaria, which marks the first long weekend of the year, commencing on Friday, 2nd February. In total, the Canary Islands will experience a total of 11 public holidays this year, encompassing both regional and national observances.
