The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival, a highly anticipated event on the island, is quickly approaching. Each year, thousands of attendees eagerly prepare to dive into the festivities, with one of the most crucial decisions being the choice of costume.
Daniel Borges, the head of Carolan, shared with DIARIO DE AVISOS this week that the Barbie costume is currently the most popular. According to Borges, it’s been a bestseller and is “selling out.”
Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival: EGYPTIANS, ROMANS, EIGHTIES THEMES…
In the last week, those still undecided have been visiting shops, looking for fun and creative costume ideas to flaunt on the streets of Tenerife’s capital starting 9 February, the day of the Cabalgata Anunciadora, which marks the beginning of the grand nighttime celebrations.
Borges noted that along with the iconic fifties doll costume, Egyptian and Roman outfits have been major hits since last year. Themes inspired by the eighties, as well as the hippie and pirate aesthetics, are also garnering significant interest among carnival enthusiasts.
