Santa Cruz carnival gears up for ‘Nights of Fantasy’: a rundown of confirmed artists

The commencement of Santa Cruz Carnival will kick off with the opening parade this Friday, signaling the start of the grand celebration.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife has officially announced a roster of artists who will set the Street Carnival ablaze, commencing this Friday, the 9th of February, with the much-anticipated opening parade. The festivities will kick off at 20:00 hours from the Plaza de la República Dominicana, where a procession of numerous floats and adorned cars will embark on a dazzling journey.


The Council of Chicharras has unveiled two Puerto Rican artists who will ignite the carnival spirit during the second Carnival of the Day, slated for the 17th of February, known as Saturday Piñata.

International sensation Luis Fonsi is set to grace Avenida Francisco La Roche (Avenida Anaga) from 19:30 hours, serenading the crowd with his chart-toppers like “Despacito” and “Échame La Culpa.” Fonsi’s two-hour performance promises to fill the city with his unmatched talent and energy.

Sharing the same stage, Joseph Fonseca will take the spotlight from 22:00 to midnight. This Latin music luminary is poised to captivate the audience with his charismatic style, delivering beloved classics such as “Noches de fantasía” and “El caballito de palo.”

First Day Carnival and Carnival Monday

The carnival revelry also extends to the First Day Carnival on Sunday, the 11th of February, with Avenida Anaga hosting a lineup of artists starting at 14:00 hours. This year’s Chicharrero stage boasts a special presence from the Benidorm Fest, featuring performances by Tenerife-based artists St. Pedro and Dellacruz, fresh from the festival, as well as Almácor, Marlena, and Lérica. The stage will also welcome Denna, a contestant from this year’s Operación Triunfo, along with Ptazeta, Juacko, Hilario, Ariann, Paula Koops, and Polo Nandez.

On Shrove Monday, the stage at Avenida Francisco La Roche will feature an impressive array of artists, including Beéle, Maikel Delacalle, Juseph, and DJ Conjurer. Romy Low, Cashlady, Jake Williams, Lyto mc, Jhon Cabas, Buena Vibra, Yoger, Marcelo Mellino, Nay Arias, and JRamos will join the festivities on stage, promising a vibrant celebration to conclude the carnival season.
