The Canary Islands Government lifted the pre-alert for calima on Saturday, concluding a nine-day period of vigilance across all the islands due to elevated air particle concentrations. Additionally, the cold front tied to the Karlotta squall has ushered in a brief spell of rainfall, as described by David Suarez, the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) delegate for the Canary Islands.
AEMET’s weather outlook for the archipelago this Monday anticipates skies ranging from cloudy to clear, with a slight drop in minimum temperatures, expected to hover between 17 and 18 degrees Celsius.
Maximum temperatures are set to remain stable compared to recent days, maintaining an average around 24 degrees Celsius.
Nevertheless, the calima is predicted to revisit the Canary Islands on Tuesday and Wednesday of the following week, particularly affecting the Las Palmas province. During this period, a minor increase in temperatures is also anticipated.
