The weather outlook for Monday, 12th February, across the Canary Islands suggests varied cloud coverage, with the northeast experiencing cloudy spells and other regions enjoying mostly clear skies.
As the day progresses, skies across the islands are expected to clear up, featuring periods of high cloud cover with occasional low cloud intervals in the northeast towards the day’s end, as forecasted by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
Temperature-wise, the minimums are forecasted to stay the same or rise slightly, particularly in northern areas, while maximum temperatures are set to increase, notably on the southern slopes. Temperature ranges will vary, with a high of 26 degrees Celsius anticipated in Tenerife and a low of 14 degrees in El Hierro.
Wind conditions will be generally light to moderate from the northeast, strengthening in the southeast and the far northwest in the afternoon and shifting to an easterly direction in midland and elevated regions. Western coastal areas can expect breeze conditions, and the central high peaks will experience light to moderate south-westerly winds.
For Gran Canaria, the day will start with cloudy intervals along the northern and eastern coasts and midlands, clearing up to mostly sunny skies elsewhere. The trend towards partial cloudiness or clear skies will continue into the afternoon, accompanied by occasional high clouds and some low cloud intervals in the north by day’s end.
In Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the morning may see cloudy intervals in the north and east, with clearer skies elsewhere. The forecast predicts an overall clear day from noon onwards, with sporadic high cloud intervals, according to Aemet.
Temperatures in these islands are expected to see a slight to moderate increase, especially in the interior and southern regions. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, temperatures will hover between a maximum of 24 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 18 degrees.
Wind patterns will feature light to moderate breezes from the northeast, with strong intervals on the southeast and northwest slopes later in the day. Southwest coasts will experience breezy conditions, and the summits will have light easterly to southeasterly winds.
