The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued a yellow alert for this Sunday due to the presence of very strong wind gusts in Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro, with speeds that could occasionally surpass 90 kilometres per hour. In response to this forecast by Aemet, the Canary Islands Government has issued a pre-alert for calima across the islands, marking the third such advisory this year.
The areas anticipated to be most impacted by the strong winds include the northern slopes of Tenerife, spanning from La Orotava to Tacoronte; the western regions of La Palma; the northwest of La Gomera; and the El Golfo area in El Hierro, as detailed by the State Meteorological Agency on Monday.

In terms of calima, although the skies will appear mostly clear, the presence of dust haze will be significant and is expected to diminish by the afternoon. Coastal minimum temperatures will remain steady, whereas inland areas may experience a slight decline.
Conversely, maximum temperatures are predicted to rise modestly on La Palma, El Hierro, and La Gomera, with Tenerife seeing little change, except for a decrease in its inland regions.
