According to data from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) updated at 12:00 hours, the Llano de Los Loros weather station in Las Mercedes (La Laguna, Tenerife) has recorded an accumulated rainfall of 31.8 litres per square metre in the last 24 hours, marking the third highest figure in the entire country and the highest in the entire archipelago.
Following in the ranking of the community are other locations with significant rainfall: Cruz de Tejeda in Gran Canaria recorded 18 litres per square metre, San Juan de La Rambla in Tenerife recorded 16.6 litres, Arure in La Gomera recorded 10.2 litres, and El Paso in La Palma recorded 9.6 litres per square metre.
The province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has also experienced some of the highest wind speeds and maximum gusts in Spain. For instance, Arure in La Gomera reported a maximum speed of 60 km/h at 2:10 am, while the La Dehesa weather station in El Pinar de El Hierro recorded a maximum gust of 89 km/h at 6:40 am, ranking among the top ten highest maximum gusts in the country.
Yellow weather warnings have been issued in the Canary Islands for wind and coastal phenomena. Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera, and Gran Canaria are under alert for strong gusts of wind reaching up to 80 kilometres per hour, while the phenomena also affect Tenerife and Lanzarote.
