The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has forecasted calima for this Monday on the eastern Canary Islands, with potential significant impact in midland and summit areas, alongside a notable decline in maximum temperatures, particularly pronounced in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
Wind conditions are expected to include the possibility of locally intense gusts on the southeastern and western flanks of the more mountainous islands, accompanied by periods of cloudiness in the northern parts of the more elevated islands and in the north and west of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
Maritime conditions are predicted to be dominated by northern winds of varying strengths, ranging from light to moderate (force 1 to 4). However, some regions may experience a significant increase in wind strength, reaching between force 3 to 5, with potential isolated gusts of up to force 6 offshore.
The sea state will range from moderate to rough, possibly escalating to heavy in certain areas. A north-westerly swell is anticipated, with wave heights initially between 1 and 2 metres but potentially rising to up to 3 metres.
