Heavy rainfall likely in the Canary Islands due to approaching storm

Due to the storm, temperatures in the Canary Islands will experience slight decreases.

The initial effects of the storm in the Canary Islands are expected to persist until next week. Today’s weather forecast indicates intervals of cloudiness, which will tend to become more prevalent in the mountainous islands. There is a chance of occasional rainfall, generally ranging from light to moderate, particularly during the latter part of the day, primarily in the northern regions of the higher relief islands. These showers may intensify, taking the form of showers during the late hours.

In other areas, light and sporadic rainfall cannot be ruled out during the latter part of the day. Temperatures are anticipated to experience a slight decrease, with a moderate drop in maximum temperatures in inland areas. The wind will be moderate from the north, with intermittent strong gusts and the possibility of locally very strong gusts on summits and western and southeastern slopes, especially during the early hours of the day in Tenerife, La Gomera, and El Hierro, as reported by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
