This Thursday, temperatures across most of Spain are set to increase, except for regions like the Balearic Islands, Levante, and Murcia. However, the Canary Islands are expected to experience particularly high temperatures, prompting a heat warning from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET). In some areas, temperatures could locally soar up to 36ºC.
Meanwhile, other regions such as Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, and Catalonia are under warnings for strong winds and waves.
Specifically, in the Canary Islands, several islands including Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma, La Gomera, and Tenerife will be under a maximum temperature warning. Coastal phenomena are expected in Cadiz (Andalusia), and strong winds are forecasted in Majorca and Minorca (Balearic Islands), as well as in Girona (Catalonia). Additionally, wind warnings are in place for Menorca (Balearic Islands) and Girona (Catalonia).

Temperatures are expected to rise across the country, particularly in the Canary Islands and parts of the northern third of the peninsula. Temperatures in the Canary Islands may exceed 30ºC and could locally reach 34 to 36ºC. However, regions such as the Balearic Islands, Levante, and Murcia will experience a decrease in maximum temperatures. Minimum temperatures are also expected to rise across the board, especially in the Canary Islands and areas of the northwest of the mainland.
The highest temperatures recorded will be 33ºC in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 28ºC in Badajoz, and 27ºC in Cordoba and Seville.
Regarding weather conditions, the AEMET forecasts cloudy skies in the Balearic Islands due to a storm in the eastern part of the archipelago, with the possibility of storms in other parts of the islands. Mainland Spain and the Canary Islands are expected to experience anticyclonic weather, with partly cloudy or clear skies, and some areas of the mainland may see intervals of high clouds.

Additionally, intervals of low clouds are expected initially in the interior of the northeast and around the Pyrenees, with possible morning mists in the northern plateau, the interior of Galicia, and around the Pyrenees. There is also a possibility of calima in the Canary Islands.
Regarding wind patterns, the trade wind will prevail in the Canary Islands, while the northeast of the Balearic Islands, Ampurdán, and the Pyrenees will experience intervals of strong or very strong gusts. The Ebro valley will experience cierzo winds, which are expected to decrease in intensity. In other parts of the mainland and the Balearic Islands, winds will be generally light, stronger on the coasts, and reaching strong intervals in the Strait of Gibraltar.
