Meteorologist Mario Picazo discussed on the website eltiempo.es the expected impact of a squall arriving in Spain, primarily affecting Galicia and eventually the Canary Islands by Sunday, as per the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
Picazo explained that the squall would move across Spain from west to east between Thursday and Sunday, bringing multiple weather fronts with it. These fronts are predicted to sustain an almost winter-like atmosphere in several provinces, introducing not just rain but also snow and strong winds in some regions.
Over the weekend, the rainfall across Spain is not expected to be particularly heavy, but the Canary Islands, especially the western islands, will also experience some precipitation. On Sunday, while widespread rain is anticipated throughout the day across the islands, it will not be intense.
Stable weather is expected in the next few hours with cooler temperatures prevailing. By Sunday, moderate rainfall is predicted for the northern areas of Tenerife and La Palma towards the end of the day. Additionally, showers could also occur from midday onward in the interior southern slopes of Tenerife and Gran Canaria, according to Aemet’s forecast.
This scenario outlines a significant weather event that could affect travel plans and outdoor activities, urging residents and visitors in the affected regions to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts.
