The renowned Japanese food chain Ramen Kagura has opened a new establishment in Tenerife, specifically in San Cristóbal de La Laguna. This brand is widely known for its dedication to the artisanal preparation of Japanese ramen, a popular Asian dish.
Starting this week, the city of Los Adelantados boasts “the best ramen in Spain” at a tavern located on Ascanio y Nieves street. The restaurant will be open every day from 12:30 to 16:00 and from 19:30 to 23:00.
WHAT IS RAMEN?
This is a wheat noodle soup served in a rich, aromatic broth, complemented with a variety of toppings. Originally from China, this dish has been adopted and evolved in Japan, becoming an iconic part of its cuisine with many regional variations. The base broths for this dish can be beef, chicken, fish, or vegetable, combined with specific noodles to create the dish, as described by Directo al Paladar.
WHY IS RAMEN SO POPULAR IN THE CANARY ISLANDS?
Japanese ramen has gained popularity worldwide, including in the Canary Islands, thanks to the globalisation of gastronomy and the growing interest in Japanese culture. On the Islands, as in other regions of Spain and Europe, it is possible to find restaurants specialising in this and other Japanese dishes.
The presence of these establishments indicates that this exquisite dish has become an integral part of the Canary Islands’ gastronomic scene, attracting both connoisseurs of Japanese cuisine and those curious to try new culinary experiences.
