The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts a mix of heat and sporadic rain across the Canary Islands this Friday, with temperatures ranging from a high of 28ºC in Tenerife to a low of 17ºC in El Hierro.
In the high summits, conditions are expected to be mostly clear or slightly cloudy, with some high cloud intervals. However, the rest of the islands will see cloudy intervals, particularly on the southwest slope where the skies are predicted to clear somewhat from the morning.
Rain is likely on the eastern slopes and in the metropolitan areas during the midday hours. While the rainfall is expected to be generally light, there may be moderate showers locally.
Temperature levels will remain steady throughout the region, peaking at 28 degrees in Tenerife and dropping to a minimum of 17 degrees on the island of El Hierro.
Winds from the west will blow moderately, shifting to north-westerly in the latter half of the day, accompanied by breezes along the southern and eastern coastlines.
Weather Outlook for the Province of Las Palmas
For the eastern province, including Gran Canaria, cloudy skies will dominate, breaking slightly on the southwest slope in the early morning and on the northeast and east slope from midday, where cloudy intervals are anticipated. There’s a slight chance of light rain on the northeastern slope during the central part of the day.
In Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, expect cloudy intervals with a tendency towards lighter skies by the afternoon. There is also a low probability of scattered light rainfall during the morning hours.
Temperatures in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria are set to rise slightly, with a maximum of 24ºC and a minimum of 19ºC forecasted.
Wind conditions will vary, starting lightly from the southwest and strengthening moderately in the northwest and southeast. By day’s end, the wind is expected to shift to a light and variable pattern, with moderate westerly winds at the peaks decreasing to light winds as the evening approaches.
