The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) reports a stable weather pattern across the Canary Islands today. In the high summits, expect mostly clear skies with occasional high cloud intervals. For the rest of the regions, the day will start with cloudy intervals, clearing up as the day progresses, except on the eastern slopes where cloudy skies will dominate in the afternoon.
There is a slight chance of weak, sporadic showers on the southeastern slopes during the early morning and later in the day.
Temperature fluctuations will be minimal, with highs reaching up to 27 degrees Celsius in Tenerife and lows dipping to 16 degrees on the island of El Hierro.
Winds will be light and variable, picking up in the afternoon to moderate westerlies, especially strong at higher altitudes.
In Gran Canaria, expect cloudy intervals in the morning, clearing up with high cloud intervals by noon, although the eastern and southeastern slopes may remain cloudy with a slight chance of brief showers. Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will see predominantly cloudy skies, which will lessen to partly cloudy or clear from midday onwards.
Temperatures in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will range from a maximum of 23ºC to a minimum of 18ºC, with only minor changes anticipated.
Early morning winds from the northeast will shift to lighter, variable directions with breezes as the day progresses. Summit winds will start light from the north, becoming light to moderate westerlies in the latter half of the day.
