The weather forecast for the Canary Islands on Wednesday, 12 June, suggests keeping an umbrella close at hand. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts predominantly cloudy skies in the north of the islands, with the possibility of scattered drizzle during the early morning hours. However, this is expected to lessen by midday, leading to lighter clouds and some intervals of high cloudiness.
Elsewhere, the skies will be mostly clear or slightly cloudy, also with periods of high cloudiness until noon. Temperature changes will be minimal, and the wind will generally blow from the northeast moderately, though stronger gusts are expected on the northwest and southeast slopes of the islands. At higher altitudes, there will be a lighter north-westerly breeze.
Specifically for Gran Canaria’s northern regions, expect cloudy conditions with a small chance of drizzle in the early morning, clearing up as the day progresses. For Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, similar conditions are anticipated with early morning drizzles especially in the northern and western parts, easing into partly cloudy skies by the afternoon.
In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, temperatures will range from a high of 23ºC to a low of 19ºC. The wind in the western and southeastern slopes will be notably strong, with potential for very strong gusts in the afternoon.
