The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued a weather advisory for the Canary Islands this Thursday, highlighting that temperatures across the archipelago will not fall below 20 degrees Celsius.
According to Aemet’s forecast, northern regions of the archipelago can expect cloudy skies with a chance of scattered drizzle, particularly in the northeastern midlands during the early morning hours. The remainder of the region will experience partly cloudy to clear skies.
Temperature readings will be consistent with previous days, ranging from a high of 25 degrees Celsius in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and San Sebastián de La Gomera, to a low of 20 degrees in Santa Cruz de La Palma.
Wind patterns will feature strong trade winds intermittently on the northwest and southeast slopes of the islands, with lighter breezes prevailing along the southwest coastal areas of the mountainous islands. At higher altitudes, there will be a gentle northerly breeze.
Marine conditions will include northeast winds at force 4 or 5, intensifying to force 6 in the northwest and southeast areas. The sea will progress from a swell to a heavy swell in these directions. Along the southwest coast, winds will be variable at force 1 to 3, with swells ranging from moderate to heavy. The north will experience swells of 1 to 2 metres.
